The Innkeeper

The poem, The Innkeeper, by John Piper, which has also been made into a small book, has become a family favorite of ours over the last few Christmases. We look forward to reading it together several times each year (though nothing quite beats watching Mr. Piper read it himself by the fireplace)!

It's quite deep, and took several times of reading/listening to it for us to fully grasp it, but now that we've heard it dozens of times, it hasn't ceased to encourage us and brings tears to our eyes. Even our 2-year-old, who surely doesn't grasp the full meaning of it, now requests to "watch John Piper read the Innkeeper."
