Better Than I Deserve

We wanted to give a little background as to why we chose the quotes/verses displayed on each of the new shirts we launched last week. 

Many years ago my wife heard a pastor, C.J. Mahaney, mention that often when he's asked how he is doing, he responds, "Better than I deserve." This is so different than how we and our society are so prone to think! Our first thought when things are rough is often "I deserve better!" Otherwise, we wouldn't complain and grumble and murmur as much as we do. How much more would our attitude be that of gratefulness and joy and praise to God if we daily lived in the reality that no matter the situation we are SO much better than we deserve! 

As Christians, we know that by God's marvelous grace, we were rescued from an eternity in Hell and through Christ's death we are now forgiven and promised life forevermore! Read the verses below and allow your heart to swell with praise at the reality of what God has done for us in Christ - and rejoice that no matter what the day may bring, knowing Jesus secures the truth that we are always doing better than we deserve!

Ephesians 1:3-8
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and blameless before Him. In love He predestined us to adoption as sons through Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the kind intention of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, which He freely bestowed on us in the Beloved. In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace which He lavished on us.
