Type Hike

We digress just a bit to let you all know about a fun project we recently had the pleasure of being a part of.

Type Hike is a collaborative design project including 60 designers and typographers. Each one created a unique design for a park they love in celebration of the National Parks Service centennial this past August.

One of our favorite parks is Joshua Tree National Park. Known for its very unique landscape covered with the yucca brevifolia (better known as the "joshua tree"), this desert park makes for an awesome day of hiking, rock climbing, and stargazing.

It was a lot of fun, and a bit stretching, to work on this design! It's always good to do projects that get out of my "comfort zone" so that I can challenge myself and learn things I may not otherwise learn.

If you're in the southern California area, all 60 Type Hike designs will be exhibited at the Poler store in Laguna from December 1st - January 5th.
