Winter is finally on its way out and spring is in the air - and we're excited to get out of hibernation mode!
It's been about a year since we made the leap into doing Scripture Type full-time. Crazy! It's had its ups and downs (what job doesn't?), but it's been fun and exciting and the Lord has taught us to depend on Him both in the busy months and the slow ones. We continue to enjoy the fun and sometimes craziness of doing it together as a family.
At long lost, this month we have launched a brand new and improved website! It's been a long time coming and we're pretty excited that it's finally up! It is easier to navigate, prettier to look at, and the overall experience is much smoother.
And that's why we've been super quiet lately. Since the beginning of the year we've directed most of our efforts on getting this website finished. Now that it's up we're looking forward to moving on to other projects (one in particular that's also been in the queue for several years)!
On a more personal level, life is full, wonderful, and also keeping us very aware of our dependence on the Lord. It's lately been dawning on me that that's a huge part of what the Christian life is about - in all kinds of situations learning to depend on the Lord and to trust Him with our lives (our kids, our work, and everything else). Circumstances change, but learning that lesson continues to be at the root of just about everything. The fostering/adopting process is going nothing like we had envisioned or planned (as it rarely seems to do), but through it God is so faithful to do a much greater work than just letting things go quickly and smoothly. He's teaching us to wait on Him, trust in Him, be faithful to what He's called us to in the day we're in, and submit to Him in every area of life. He is wise, He gets to write the story of our lives, and in the end it's always more beautiful than what we would've chosen for ourselves.
A song* I've been listening to on repeat lately says it like this:
"Christ our wisdom, we are humbled
When You hide Your ways from us
You have purposes unnumbered
Each one good and glorious
Help us trust when we grow weary
Free us from our anxious thoughts
Give us grace to see more clearly
You are God and we are not" (Christ our Wisdom - Sovereign Grace Music)
*Such a good song - go listen to it!
